- The Knell
Knell – the sound of a bell rung slowly to announce a death or a funeral or
the end of something; ring as in announcing death. (www.wordreference.com)
It hardly gets any slower. 8 years and it's only getting started. The Knell
(as name hints) plays doom metal, mixing it with even more doom metal and
throws just a bit of everything else.
Long existance without significant outcome could be explained by the fact
that even though the band started in 1998 as a duo, it parted ways with more
than dozen musicians who came to fill in along the way. Both official demos
[that made the Knell claim it's presence] were recorded by duo only,
therefore represents only shape of what could be achieved by full line up
in studio and live. And now, after quite a few long years of doom with many
ups and downs, one break up and many line-ups' changes, it seems that
doomonster "the Knell" is stronger than ever. And so with their stable
line-up, record deal and big experience you could expect a slow, heavy
and unusual release in 2006. Expect more news.
